Modem restarted randomly

Solution
Modem probably lost the connection to the servers briefly, produced an error and restarted
nothing to worry mate
(and as someone who worked for an ISP I promise you 'looking into it' means the guy in 2nd level taking a look at your modem and if he sees it running he maybe resets it or closes the trouble ticket right away :p )

A Modem 'dials' and it should only do it a certain number of times (redial) before it gives up. Hence 'retires exceeded'. So it wasn't getting a response from your ISP. Typically A) You didn't pay your Bill (did you?) B) Service issue (ISP office it tries to call is down) C) there is a issue with your connection from the modem 'outside' (i.e. did a mouse in the wall chew through the wire?).

ALL these answers all still require you to CALL your ISP and ASK for SUPPORT. That is what your paying for, and no forum can resolve ISP issues ever for you.

I always pay my bill and I contacted my ISP and they mentioned something about doing some early maintenance work and that's all i know. They are looking into it.
