Can I Move A Now Unused Windows 7 Key to Laptop?

I recently received a Compaq Presario V6000 Vista Notebook. I am currently trying to upgrade it as best as I can, and using a program, (whose name escapes me), I discovered that the installed hardware was able to run a 64-Bit OS. I upgraded my PC to Windows 10 via the free upgrade, and am wondering if I can use the old product key to attempt to activate Windows 7, (64-Bit), on my laptop.

Any help is much appreciated!

No, your old Windows 7 key is deactivated if you don't revert back to Windows 7 after 30days. MS isn't going to let you have an extra copy of their O/S for free.
