Hi there,
So recently I bought a new PC and decided to open it up and clean it as there was quite a lot of dust. I also replaced thermal paste for as it seemed quite dry down there. After setting everything up, I turned on the PC. Everything seemed to be fine but at the windows loading screen, the computer just shut down by itself. So I turned it back on again, entered the BIOS, I noticed that the CPU temperature was around 80-82C. Wow. Previously, it was working just fine with the temperature of around 35-40 while idle. All of the fans seem to be working, all the cables are connected- can anyone help me figure out what could be causing this?
My specs:
MOBO- Asus Rampage 3
CPU- Intel i7-950 3.07 GHZ
RAM- 24 GB (6x4) 2033MHZ (corsair? Unsure)
Graphics- Nvidia Quadro fx 580
PSU- Pentium p4 MODEL-PC-550AUBA-M
I don't have any aftermarket coolers, nor any of the parts have been overclocked. I will appreciate any help given.
