Hi guys, i need some help here, i don't know must of memory CAS and the advantages of CL vs. MHz, so... i'm building this PC...
Asus Z170, intel, intel I5 6600K, with an asus gtx 1060, now my question is this, i see many DDR4 types and sizes, but for what i have read in some other theats here posted , what does really matter is the CL, so... the faster DDR4 that i find here are....
"kingston hyperX fury 2133 CL14"- 85€
"kingston Hyper Savage 2400 CL12" 120€
both are dual channel, 16 GB (2X8 GB), the the price diference is quite some, but it's worth paying the extra price? thanks

Solution
Take the speed (MHz) and divide by the CL and you have a fairly common performance metric; the expensive kit has a score of 200, the cheap one is 152. This doesn't mean the expensive one is 33% better - it's not. Most things only gain 1-2% with faster RAM in the real-world.

I suggest you keep looking, there should be something that's under 100 euro and offers you something better than 2133MHz @ CL14.

If those were the only two in the world and I had no better use for 35 euro, then I'd choose the 2400MHz @ CL12. Otherwise I'd take the 2133MHz @ CL14 and put the 35 euro towards a bigger SSD or a better monitor, etc.
