Hey guys, my system is listed in my profile. I just swapped out Corsair Vengaence ram which is rated for 2666 to 32GB of gskill trident 3200 MHz ram.

I cannot get the ram to run stable at anything over the default setting (i'm assuming that's 2100). Everytime I try enabling XMP and restart the screen is just blank and my p.c. shuts off after a few seconds of not doing anything. To reset it to default I need to boot it in safe mode. With my corsair ram it was perfectly stable @ 2666. What's going on?? I tried every speed listed in the bios and nothing would even boot up except for the default setting.

Can anyone recommend some voltage/cpu strap settings that may help? I actually just experience an issue while gaming where i would get random hanging every 10 minutes or so for like 3-4 seconds before it resuming.

Could it have something to do with going from 16 to 32?

If you have other ram, I would just RMA them. Gskill has great customer service. If it cannot run at XMP settings then there is something wrong, especially if your other XMP capable sticks run fine. If it was a CPU or board issue, the probably would likely be present with other RAM kits.

Bump - Should I try raising my DRAM Voltage? I just noticed on the product website it says "Voltage - 1.35". Is that the maximum allowed? Or the recommended voltage? Should I try just manually settings the DRAM frequency to 3200 and then set the dram voltage to 1.35?

Well I gave up. I tried a bunch of different cpu multipliers. I tried raising DRAM voltage and VTT voltage but nothing would even boot up. I am RMAing it but I am skepticle if another set would yield better results. I wonder if it's because i'm going from 16gb to 32gb.
