6700K Temps Correct?

I have a question, I upgraded to a 6700K MB = MSI KRAIT Z170A Gaming from an FX-8370 MB=Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and I overclocked the 6700k to 4.4GHz. After running AIDA 64 overnight, 9hrs, I saw that my temp peaked at 71C but remained relatively constant at 68C. My 8370 on the other hand was overclocked to 4.6GHz and I only saw a peak temp of 55C and a relative constant temp of 52C under the AIDA 64 load. Both chips were/are being cooled by the DEEPCOOL Captain 240 AIO Liquid Cooler. Both chips are at 28C-32C when idle. Do I have a faulty 6700K?

Dont worry, if in anything syntthic you get 71 degrees, in a real world situation you will be more then fine. It is recomended under 75 degrees, yours didnt get this temp in syntethic stress test so it will never get close to this temp in real world scenerio, again dont worry, you are more then fine.

Mine gets 74 degrees in prime95.

Thanks m8, I was legit worried that I may have had a somewhat faulty chip : ^)

your fine, i got my 6700K to 4.7Ghz with a H110 and mine sit around 70°c in game, anything over 80°c is where i draw the line.
the reason your AMD chip is cooler is because it uses solder between the IHS and the CPU as well as having a ah heck overall die to dissipate heat, where the 6700K has a smaller die so the heat is more concentrated as their is a smaller area for the heat to be releases

Ah thanks for the insight on my old AMD chip vs my Intel Chip. I thought it was strange that an intel chip was running hotter than an AMD chip. Usually I can toast bread with those AMD chips *shots fired* lol

The AMD CPU may actually be hotter, the Intel CPU's temperature sensors are closer to hot parts of the chip and read higher though. Intel allows their chips to get to what the sensor reads as 100c before throttling, and 130c before shutting down.
