BIOS changes ignored

I have a weird problem. put short and to the point: Changing something in the BIOS and saving it is completely ignored. The changes are saved but when I boot up windows 10 and check CPU-Z (and other monitors) all of the changes are at factory defaults. I can change the settings through AMD overdrive. But upon windows startup, BIOS changes are ignored (they are saved and after a reboot if I check the BIOS they are set to what I left them at).

Motherboards: ASUS sabertooth 990fx r2.0

Updated to newest BIOS version.

Any thoughts?

any oc program interference? try safe mode just to be sure

a tip, try choosing the correct ratio only by using "-" "+" buttons

Ohh right sry, here is some sceens I took. It seems like under-clocking the CPU through the BIOS is not working. It flat out ignores it. Check these screens:

Changed the CPU ratio from 23 to 21 (and thus the CPU speed from 4700 to 4200 Mhz) https://www.dropbox.com/s/5pryrr787rqow8z/IMAG0077.jpg?dl=0

U can see other CPU related settings here:

But as you can see in this Screeny the computer flat out ignores it:

is your cpu unlocked. also your bios settings remain saved or they are discarded after reboot?

Yeah CPU is unlocked (it's an AMD FX-9590) trying to under-clock it because AMD [censored] it up and overclocked it wayyy more than the motherboard can handle. So to fix the instability issues I had, I need to under-clock it. I do it through AMD overdrive but it's a pain since I cannot trust it to apply the settings on startup.

nope CPU frequency and voltage, and trying to under-clock it. Sorry should have been more clear but the details should be in the thread now. :)

Well the weird continues.. restarted in safe mode, checked and clockspeeds looked good. Restarted in normal mode and everything seems good. Somehow restarting in safe mode did some magic :)

thanks all :)

can't be! check your oc applications on startup

And you where right, nope didn't work.. problem persists.

Have just uninstalled AMD overdrive and restarted my computer.. still ignores BIOS changes 100%..

This is really beginning to bug me :/
