hi !!! i am planning to buy a gpu (gtx 970 or gtx 1060) , my current one is an xfx radeon hd 6950 2gb , and my pc specs are
intel i5 2300 2.8 GHz
motherboard Intel dh61ww pcie 2.0 x 16
psu 700w cooler master g700
ram 8gb

i want to play at 1080p with good frame rates , if i get either a 970 or 1060 , will there be significant bottlenecking of a 970 or a 1060 with my pc build????

The i5 2300 shouldn't bottleneck either of the GPU's, basically any sandy bridge i5 and above won't really bottleneck a GPU maybe except under heavy cpu load but you'll be fine. Also if I was you I'll personally would choose the GTX 970 or the GTX 1060 over the 1070 since the 1070 runs around the $400 price bracket and you'll only be gaming at 1080p so the 1070 would be overkill, and you could save some money by going with GTX 970 (used) for like around $175, but unless you prefer new GPUs then go for the 1060 and either of them will do a fantastic job of playing 1080p games with not much bottleneck to the cpu.

thnx , will my motherboard handle a 1060 or 970 , it has pcie 2 and these cards are pcie 3 , so is there gonna be some performance or compatibility issues????? Aso sould i get a 3gb or 6gb 1060??? is 3gb enough???

Yeah no issues with PCIE 2.0 it won't limit a 1060. I disagree on gettnig the 3Gb version though. Do yourself a favour and get teh 6 gig version. Aside from teh obvious VRAM diff., the 3GB version is also a cripplet chip compared to it's "bigger sister". Also, i'm guesing you want to keep this card for a while. 3GB of VRAM will not be cutting it for long, even in 1080p. I would not touch anything below 4gb these days, if even that.
