I got a new Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 a few days ago and I am unable to get any signal from any of the outputs.

I replaced my old GTX 780 with the GTX 1070.

I have tried all the things listed below but still no joy!! the onboard graphics works from the mobo and so does the GTX 780 if I pop it back in but the GTX 1070 does not want to work!
When the card is installed it lights up and fans run but absolutely no signal.

Do you think I have a duff card!? :(

Any help you can suggest is very greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading my post :)

I have tried -
All outputs - DVi - HDMI - DP
I tried a different monitor
I have removed all old drivers with DDU and started fresh
I have disabled on board graphics and tires install of 1070
I have checked all Bios settings to make sure it is selecting the PCIe
I have reset Bios (reset button and jumper)
Bios is up to date
I tried other PCIe slot
Windows 10 is all up to date
I have tried a different power supply
I have gone over system and checked all items are fitted correctly and working

My system spec is
ROG Maximus V Gene
i7 2600k 4.4ghz
Corsair RM 850 PSU
16gb Corsair Vengeance
Samsung SSD
Windows 10

"the onboard graphics works from the mobo and so does the GTX 780 if I pop it back in but the GTX 1070 does not want to work! "...

so the old card works fine...try the new card with another pc if u can, if the problem follows the device, then rma the card asap...

Thank you I did think this would be a good test for it but I honestly have no one else I know with a PC I can try it in! :(
Maybe I should just RMA the card. So frustrating when you have these issues with a new product.

I have now managed to test the card on another PC at work. It booted up with display straight away!!!

I just can't work out what the hell is going on. I have just double checked with my old card in and it boots with a display signal!! Pop the new GTX 1070 and nothing!
I really have know idea what to try now! I honestly thought the card must be faulty but it worked on the other PC.

Any ideas?!?! :(

thats quite rare...shouldnt be happening, specially when both are green cards...

lets try this, in this order...

> download display driver uninstaller from guru3d...run it and uninstall all current drivers...
> power off the system and reset the cmos battery...
> power on the system and update the bios to the latest one, but before that, keep a copy of the older bios, in case the new one doesnt work...u can skip this if already done...
> now attach the new card and power on the system...

see if u get a signal...let us know...

This is gonna sound weird but I had this problem when I first got my GTX 970 (upgrade from hd7870) and what I had to do to make it work was uninstall the graphics drivers and use the onboard graphics to set the first display output to pcie1, then I literally just rebooted into the BIOS from the graphics card until the screen started working. It took 7-8 tries until my mobo finally used the graphics card. It still happens sometimes if I clear the CMOS. It's weird but it might be worth a try if you've tried everything else.

Thank you I will give this a try! If this does not work I am gonna return it to the shop I got it from. I have spoken to them and they have no idea whats wrong either and said they will swap it for another card.

I have tried all the same things as you and am having the same exact problem. Lights up but doesn't display. Going from a 680 to a 1070. 680 displays up no issues. When the 1070 is in I can only display from the on board gpu. I had been trying to problem solve is for days and I thought it was the graphics card. I went through a RMA and got another one. Put the 2nd 1070 in and nothing. Same issue. Starting to think it is my motherboard now but I don't understand why it would be that. Please post if you get this solved. I will to as well. Going to try a friends computer this time just to make sure this 2nd 1070 works correctly.
