I have just purchase a Radeon HD 7870 Myst. Edition 2gb 256bit PCI Express GPU but when i try to run it, the message pop's up "no bootable device". Tha fans come on, beeps and then shuts off and when i finally manage to get into BIOS it makes grey blocks around all the writing. Please can anyone help me fix this or tell me whether my CPU is insufficient? I have a Intel core duo 4gb ram motherboard. Thanks.

Solution
Do you still have the USB in the PC when you try and boot up? try unplugging any storage device that doesnt have your OS on and see if it boots up then.

-Does the PC work without the card installed?
-The GPU shouldn't prompt a boot device error, have you made any other storage related changes?
-Have you uninstalled any previous GPU drivers you may have installed as they could be causing the artifacting issue.

Hi,

Yes, the PC works without the card installed and also when the old card is put back in.
No changes were made with regards to other storage options
Uninstalled all old drivers and reloaded windows 7 on, could not load new drivers from USB because the computer gives me the message " no bootable device, contact your administartor"
