Hello , i recently built my gaming pc and it was working like a charm until couple hours ago while playing assassins creed syndicate for over 30 mins my pc totally freezed no response at all screen was on but frozen . Couldn't minimize /alt+f4 / or even ctrl alt del for task manager. The thing that worked was holding down power button for a few seconds for force shutdown. I started pc again and everything seemed normal. But this freeze thing got me worried is there a faulty part in my pc or its something normal?

My pc specs
Gigabyte h170 gaming 3
I7 6700 non k
Msi gtx 1060 gaming x 6g
16 gb ddr4 2133 gskill ram
128gb zotac ssd
2x500gb old laptop hard drives 7200rpm
Psu is seasonic m12 620w evo edition
Win7 ultimate 64bit

Thanks very much

I would not worry too much if this happened only once. If it happens every time you play a game, then it might be worth it to investigate further. Games are not perfect - every software (including Windows, of course) has bugs, and can freeze even on best hardware from time to time.

You have a decent PSU, so power issues are likely not to be expected. The only thing you could check are temperatures while gaming, both on CPU and GPU, just to be sure. Report them back. They should not exceed 90C for CPU, the lower the better, ideally somewhere in the 60s range. For GPU, keep them below 90C as well.

Okay thanks guys i will keep using the pc for some more days ans see if it occurs again and will report here back again
And i was monitoring the temps at that time . The msi 1060 never exceeded the 65c and the cpu stayed between 55-68c which is pretty good i think.
Thanks
