I have a very old speaker set and had it fixed to work in the philippines from the usa.

I haven't used it in a long time and it was distorted and made a humming sound when I plugged it in to my pc.

After using it a while my keyboard stopped working properly on the pc(it works fine on my laptop) also something happened that made my computer just freeze up with a blurry screen. The computer wouldn't turn on anymore.

So I read online that it might be the ram so I put the ram into the other slot and it worked again.

A week later I started getting glitches on my screen like blurry bar on top half of the screen. Keyboard still not working properly. So I unplugged everything for about a day and it started working normal again for a couple weeks.

I fell asleep with the computer on. When I woke up it was off. Now my computer boots up doesn't do anything. The mouse would light up but not the keyboard.

I read online what I should do to try to fix it and followed that. But I think I made it worse.

How do I fix this and is it the speaker that caused the problems? I also have a new video card that was installed recently before I used the speakers. Could that be the problem?

I don't really know exactly what hardware I have. The mother board is Asus. The cpu is i5 not sure which one. I also just bought this motherboard last year so it should still be ok?

Ive read different things online to try to fix it but nothing is working.

Speakers? No way. The only thing your speaker could do is short out. Given the low voltage and the way DC works i can't imagine this would ever cause any damage, ever.

Blurry screen? That is odd. Buy a set of compatible RAM and i'd bet it goes away.

Ok thank you for the advice. I will try this tomorrow. How do I know what ram is compatible?

Oh its not just a small speaker set by the way its the kind with the bass thing and two little speakers that you have to plug into the wall.

The screen was showing the picture but you can see lots of pixels that formed a wave along the pattern of the picture of the screen when it froze if that makes sense. Also when I turned the pc back on it was just a blue screen showing.

The other time it was glitching the top half was like a tinted green across. Still visible but tinted and slightly blurred.
