I have had the same setup for about 1.5 year but suddenly my pc started rebooting when playing 7dtd and going downhill to other games. I can only play 2 games (10 min) of rocket league (on avg) before it reboost now (has been worse). I have brought it to 2 computer professionals and my PSU is checked to the bone.

Disconnecting my front USB ports from my motherboard helps a little bit.
When in the lower GPU socket the pc lasts a little longer as well.
It still shuts down with only my monitor and power cable inserted.
Using an older GPU greatly reduces rebooting (gtx 480 works best, gtx 760 works a little better)

specs:
PSU: Master cooler G650M
GPU: gtx 960 msi gaming 2G
CPU: Intel core i7 870 @ 2.93 GHz

Please help i've been looking for a solution for almost half a year now

You already have a better lead than that. If the shop you brought it to was unable to reproduce the issue even when running a game, but the issue still occurs when plugged into your home circuit, that points to an issue with the circuit in your home. I recommend getting a battery backup (having one is a good idea in general anyway) and seeing if the issue occurs when the PC is plugged into the UPS.

No, I don't have anything to replace it with, but as i said i've had the assembler look at it and a guy at a local tech store (the owner) look at it with the request to check the power supply. They assured me the PSU was not the problem, they both didnt even experience the problem (the tech store owner shouldve run a game on it). He said that it was probably a USB malfunctioning ,I do have a broken one on the front of my pc which i completely forgot about, so i disconnected all the front USB-ports from my motherboard (I experienced electricity flowing on the outsides of the USB while it was still connected) and have run a game with quickly removing my keyboard and mouse from the back USB's and after 3 to 5 minutes it rebooted whilst in the menu. I can run prime 95 without any problems by the way and it has had a memory check by the first guy. It doesnt matter what power socket i put it in to by the way.

It does, its the same proces if you disconnect power to the pc and turn it on directly after. And after all i have read on this page i was convinced that it was the PSU so i took it to another guy, but i might be able to get a PSU from a friend to test with.

Is it by the way possible the cable powering the motherboard (at least i think its that one (8 pin almost like GPU) next to the cpu) the duration till reboot differed when i replugged and messed around with it.

if it does power off then it is an issue with the PSU. yes the computer would run fine all day long but the moment you start pushing the GPU with a graphically intensive game the PSU will get too much load and depending on the quality of the PSU will power off to prevent overload that would possibly cause damage to the PSU and other components.

yes you brought it to a tech shop but would you expect them to play a graphically intensive game like GTA V to reproduce the issue?

Okay i will certainly try to convince someone to lend me a PSU and try it with that one. Thanks a lot for the input ill post it on the forum if it fixes it.
