I saw a cheap case with PSU here in my place and this is the exact site

https://dynaquestpc.com/product/cooler-master-cmp-102-casing-with-500w-psu/

I think Cooler Master has built their name but I don't know about the psu in this case. Anyway it will be running just a pc for a kid

SPECS:

AMD A8-7600
GIGABYTE GA-F2A68HM-S1
CRUCIAL 4GB DDR3 1600MHz
WESTERN BLUE 1TB 7200RPM

No gpu, no other accessories, just those. Can I go with this case or is it too risky, it might explode (lol) the system only needs 149w.

It has to do more with quality than quantity. Sure, you can make a 500W PSU for $30, definitely guarantee that it won't run the same as a 500W PSU that retails for $80. PSUs are one thing just like cases - you get what you pay for. If you pay for bargain basement, you're going to get bargain basement. If you pay for quality, you will get quality. A 500W PSU that retails for $80 from a reliable vendor like EVGA or...

Then it's from Cooler Master so probably it's nicer than to buy a generic one (lol) this one's 0.1% maybe better than other psu that their names are not on the tier list.

It's upto you. I wouldn't buy a new psu just for a cpu. 500W is fine.

Yes, but why would coolermaster make a psu (500w) that won't take 200w loads?

BTW Coolermaster doesn't make PSU's they rebrand them.

It's a trap!

Its not the load its the fact the PSU is garbage. If the OP ever adds a GPU the PSU may not handle it properly, on top of that it likely has weak protections so if the PC gets hit with a surge or short, or the PSU fails, it very likely could take the rest of the components with it.

A 500W PSU that retails for $80 from a reliable vendor like EVGA or Seasonic will have a much higher build quality than one that retails for $40 from Corsair or Cooler Master. But the reason far too often than not the reason why GPU manufacturers overstate and mislabel actual PSU requirements is because of junk power supplies like this.

The problem with many junk PSU's, other than little to no protection, in the event of a failure, is the 12v amperage sucks, which is quite important. They inflate the amperage on the less important 3.3 and 5v rails to meet the rated wattage. I have seen quality 450w PSU's with better 12v amperage ratings than a junk 600w.

Just saw a few garbage psu's that had like 500w and exploded at 250w. You're right..
