780ti sli or rx480 Crossfire?

Hello I've been trying to figure out what I should do buy another 780ti and sli them or sell my 780ti while it's still worth something and buy 2 rx 480s I've been stuck on which one to do but I can't make up my mind...people tell me to get a gtx 1080 but if they do come out with a 1080ti then the price should go down on the 1080.

The price of the 1080 is not going to decrease if and when a 1080ti comes out. The ti will just be priced higher. This is how it worked last time around too.

Sell the 780 while its still worth something the value goes down almost daily. I wouldn't do RX 480 crossfire either. Get yourself a 1070, which would cost a little less, give you excellent performance in all games, while slower than CF RX 480's is far faster than 1, and then if you want even more buy a second 1070.

Crossfire and SLI are not great solutions, not every game supports them, many times they need tuning, they introduce their own problems as well. A Single card is always better.

First question is what resolution you're playing at, & what refresh rate your monitor has. If your monitor can only hit 60-75Hz @ 1080p resolutions, then both a GTX 1080 and 2 RX 480s in CrossFire are overkill, as a single RX 480 is more than capable. if you monitor can hit 144Hz @ 1080p, the RX 480 is probably still good by itself, although some games might not hit the top refresh rate. If you're rocking a 144Hz @ 1440p monitor, then a GTX 1070 or 1080 is what you should be looking for, but again SLI isn't going to be necessary.

Thanks for the answers...my monitor is only a 1080p 60hz and the 780ti does the job of playing everything at ultra but the heat and noise of the 780ti is way to much and I was gonna get a aftermarket cooler but for I wanna just get a new gpu I'll probably just get a 1070 then and upgrade my monitor
