I've been trying advice from similar questions asked already, but nothings worked. I also went through the main troubleshooting list.

I've been using my custom build for 1 year, but a month ago it tipped over, and I haven't gotten it to boot since. Initially, the fans would start when I'd press the power button, then it would quit after a couple seconds. It would continuously try to start up again and again, even though I only hit the power button once. I realized the CPU fan was loose, and that I must have broken a couple pins during installation.

So I got a new fan yesterday, and while it continues to run now without shutting off, I can't get any signal to either the monitor or my TV. The monitors though the motherboard, and TV uses HDMI through the video card, so it can't just be the video card.

I've tried:
- Taking out the CMOS battery for 20 min, reinstalling
- Unplug power cord, then hold power button in for a minute
- Only one stick of ram, switching slots (along with the rest of the troubleshooting list)

Maybe I screwed something up changing the fan. I scraped the old thermal paste off with my fingernail, but it seemed to be completely gone. When I attached the new fan, I did have to do a fair bit of readjusting to get it on, even though I tried not to.

If anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not a computer expert, and I was so excited when I got it all to work last year and it sucks that I can't use it at all now just because it tipped over :(

Solution
I suggest you get someone else to look at it locally, you should not have to have to move the fan around to fit it properly, and if you have broken pins that needs to be fixed. You want to make sure the CPU is seated properly, and something else may have cracked or come loose in the system. The power supply may be bad also.
