Am I bottlenecking? (Amd fx 8350, Gtx 1070 ftw, 12gb ddr3 ram)

I ordered my 1070 a week ago and it arrives tomorrow, will my cpu bottleneck my GPU ?

Opinions please ?

If you want to maintain only 60 fps at 1440p, I would think it would be doable with the FX-8350. It's only when you try to get into the stratosphere of FPS that you may have problems.

At 1080p/60Hz however, it will be more card than necessary since you'll never see more than 60...

Ill be going for 1080p smooth 100ish FPS at most games, I will be upgrading to a 1440p monitor which I would love to play at a constant 60fps ( I will be locking the FPS) Would this be achievable with my 8350 1070 and 12gbs of ram ?

At 1080p/60Hz however, it will be more card than necessary since you'll never see more than 60 fps anyway. Even my 1060 3GB gets me a steady 60 fps at 1080p/60Hz with my FX-8350 @ 4.7 GHz. So bottom line, I would not hesitate getting the GTX 1070 with your system.

Sorry for the late reply ! So would I get really good FPS at 1080p ? I also have my processor overclocked to 4.8Ghz stable, would I be getting lets say over 100 in most games ?

You should get near that yes. But you're missing the point... with a monitor the has a 60 Hz vert refresh, you will never see more than 60 fps. No matter how many fps the GPU is rendering. You would need a 120 Hz or 144 Hz display to be able to see 100 fps.

Oh I completely get you its just like alot of pc players i like having a larger number of fps :p makes you feel good hahaha but yeah thank you so much for all your help ! :)
