CFX RX480 strix Vs single 1080 which wins?

Hi my friend thinks 2x RX480 STRIX the single 1080 STRIX in performance, I however have only see them beat a 1070 my 5-10% faster than a single 1070 and that's with issues with crossfire etc, I tried to google 2x RX480 V's 1080 but cant find any benchmarks so far and I got to work.

any help is appreciated, benchmarks or real world tests welcome !

Well a 1080 is about 75-80% faster than a single 480.
Xfire (and SLI) do not scale nearly well enough to make up that 80% difference.
I would say Xfire 480s would close the gap, but not surpass a 1080.

Not to mention the issues you can have with crossfire and some games don't support it

Look at graphics score not overall score or physcis, just graphics, this is 1080 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8877384 , and this is rx480 cf http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10216008, as you can see cf 480 has 29k points and 1080 has 25k points, 480 cf is a bit better thena single 1080 but there is too much hassle with the cf and besides not all games supports cf.

Yes that too, in a very very well optimized game yes they surpass the 1080 how i just posted links with scores from 3dmark but in real world scenerios such as gaming they dont scale well and instead of 85-95% bonus from the second card you get 55-65% because of the bad optimizing so you get lower performance then the 1080.

Sizzling has the answer here. They dont surpass a 1080 at all outside of synthetic benchmarks.
In two AMD optimized games they pull a slight edge, but no other time.
