Asrock Z97 Extreme6 sata port numbering

This is my first Asrock mobo, and this is a really basic question :)

I read that boot device should be on sata3_0 port. I see the labeling for sata3_0_3 on mobo.

My question is which port is sata3_0? the top port or port closest to mobo?

I think its top to bottom ? should be in your manual on that ?

well I got that manual on page 25 ya, its odd how there set up and listed I see your point [I got a z87 exe 6 and its ''nromal'' ]??

looks like on the z97 its top row of ports are 0-1-2 bottom row 3-4-5 and the sata ''A'' ports are as I said at first 1- top -2 bottom and so on

that is funky glad I had the manual to look quick

I went over that diagram several times but could never convince myself one way or the other.

Just didn't want to "assume" and then end up having mobo that wouldn't boot :-(
