So after trying to help my mom/nephew/niece with getting Minecraft to run on the laptop, I found Intel's HD 3000 Graphics aren't supported on Windows 10. There literally is no Windows 10 download available. I had to (against my better judgement and at the family's urging) roll back Java to update 45 to get Minecraft to work (there were issues with Pixel Format not Accelerated on Minecraft).

Regardless, that's beyond the subject here. In the interest that I might be shopping for parts for a new DESKTOP PC soon, I was curious which graphics vendor supports their products for the longest. What are each company's (AMD's, nVidia's, Intel's) policies on driver support and when do they reach "end-of-life"?

Solution
They both push out drivers for the same length as far as I've ever noticed. AMD maybe a bit longer because they've just been rehashing their old tech.

Note their is no ATI, AMD bought them years ago.

Guys he is not asking for warrenty,he is asking for driver support and microcode.

Tbh i think nvidia only supports 6xx and after

Nvidia tends to release drivers earlier than amd

Those are the two choices you have as intel's igpu isnt stong enough yet

I'm not talking about warranties, but driver updates and end-of-life dates and such.

What I'm asking is which of the big three (actually two :ange:, nVidia, AMD, [strike]Intel[/strike]) support their chipsets for longer?

e.g. EVGA sells nVidia. Sapphire sells ATI. I'm curious how long ATI and nVidia supply drivers for their chipsets.
