This is a bit of a weird problem that I've never encountered before.

Basically using any wifi device such as phones, ipads, or laptops will cause the normally blue lights (online) on my cable modem to flash green (offline). This includes obviously running resource intensive things like youtube or netflix but even less intensive things like texting on apps will cause this.

This only applies to wireless devices as mentioned. Using any of the three desktops in my home will not cause problems even while two of them are connected via wifi ethernet cards.

I basically cant use any small wireless devices because itll disable the cable modem. But once I stop using them such as closing the youtube app on my phone. The cable modem lights will go right back to blue in a matter of 10-15 seconds and all is normal.

I've tried all the basic things like resetting the modem and release and renewing the ip addresses, changing and resetting the names of my wireless networks. The problem appears to be with the cable modem and I;ll be sure to call my isp in the morning but in the meanwhile, if anyone can give me some advice, it would be welcomed.

It does sound like a wireless bridge problem inside the modem. If a factory reset of the modem does not remedy it, it is likely a hardware issue. Do you have both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands? If so, try each separately. It's possible one might still work while the other doesn't.
