Alright so I'm lost - I have 2 Polk Audio Towers, Sony Amp and a switchboard. 60" Plasma LG TV. The wiring is all setup fine as I have a Y-Cable to listen to music from my phone. Do I need a receiver to get sound from the TV to the Amp? Any suggestions would be helpful cause I'm stumped. Thanks!

Makes and models would let us give you an exact answer.
If general your TV may have four different audio outputs.
You may have an analog audio output (2 RCA jacks or a 3.5mm stereo jack). That would connect to the receiver directly.
You may have a headphone output (3.5mm stereo jack). That would connect to the receiver directly.
You may have a coax or optical digital audio output (optical is the most likely). These would require a DAC to connect to a receiver that did not have digital inputs. If the receiver has digital inputs that would be the best way to make the connection.
