Is there any way one of you could find the parts to build a $100 gaming PC that could just handle simple games at a reasonable FPS? I'm new to all of this PC stuff and don't feel like spending a ton of money for a rig I'm literally going to play two games on. Also, I see a lot of replies recommending saving up more money but at this point I really can't. So, if in any way someone has the power to build a gaming PC for $100.. well, then I'd love you. Thanks

YES. $100 is enough to build a functional computer 8}

The Onion Omega2 is ONLY $5!!!
Splurge a little and go for the $9 Omega2 Plus Upgrade!!!

The Onion Omega2 is Tiny Linux Computer designed for the Internet of Things, that works with WiFi and Flash Storage to be usable immediately out of the box.

IT CAN PLAY GAMES... JUST VERY SIMPLE LINUX ONES ;)

Other than that; try CraigsList for a used one.
Format it, do a Clean install w/ Lubuntu Linux for an older PC.

The reason is; U don't know what Spyware & Malware that may be installed on a Windows PC - including the Widows 10 CrapWare from Microsoft!

For a modest amount of $ you could bump that up to 8GB or RAM and add a low end Graphics card. You could RUN CSGO and other easy to run games.

I bought my Dell 755 bare bones for $10, slapped in a HDD I had laying around, put Linux on it, added some RAM and a cheap used graphics card. I am in it less than $100. it came with the processor though, which saved a good amount of $$$.

Good idea to check surplus stores and liquidation stores. Large universities, schools, and businesses get rid of their computers this way when they upgrade.

Goodwill Computer Stores sells 3 - 5 year old computers at reasonable prices. They also have an assortment of video cards, monitors, etc. You won't find any 4+ GHz i7 systems, but you might find a decent system and video card for basic gaming. Not sure you'll make it for under $100, but maybe $150.

Do you know people who like to build computers? Maybe if you ask around you can find enough spare parts they're willing to sell for very cheap, or even give you, to assemble a machine from. You'll need to do some research to make sure everything works together properly, but it may be possible.

Steam works on Linux, so the previous post suggesting the use of Linux on a used computer is actually a viable one for $100 imo.

Of course Windows, for more than $100, is required to play the triple A games most are use to playing.

Hi , first what are your proposed games minimum and recommended requirements ( computer specs that ensure smooth running of the subject game ) , as once the required specs are established potential solutions can be suggested based upon sound clinical logic.

Ha! No one. You can only play on $100 PC using SteamOS on Linux to run old games. AAA games aren't even possible.

A xbox360 still requires add'l $$ for xbox live to play online so that's a bad choice imo. PS/3 is viable, but it's not a PC.

Dude you seriously don't know what you are talking about. Microsoft is a great company with a great OS unlike Linux or Ubuntu or whatever the hell its name is! Please lower your CAPS use and please do not say anything you haven't even tried cause it looks like you live on open source OSs.

Anyway there's a built-in AV in Windows that does the job better than any AV out there! Next time make sure you are saying the right thing or you give people the wrong idea! It is just an advice nothin more.
