i7 4790k vs i7 6700k

i am using the GTX 960 Gaming OC edition from MSI
so which cpu will perform best without any isuues and bottleneck

Both of these are more than fast enough for a GTX 960.

I would save yourself some money and get an i5.

To answer your question, let me assure you, none of these processors gonna bottleneck the GTX 960. So, choosing either of the two is mostly a personal choice.

You must be already knowing the differences between the two CPUs, the biggest difference is that the i7 4790K requires a LGA1150 socket whereas the i7 6700K requires the latest LGA1151 socket. So if you are currently using a motherboard with a socket of the former type, then I'd say better go for the i7 4790K, that way you'd be eliminating the necessity and expenses of procuring a new motherboard. If it is possible to over clock the i7 4790K, then it is even better as you won't need to upgrade for a while and within that period I am quite sure the LGA1151 will be succeeded by a newer type of socket for more modern CPUs and that is when you can opt for another full fledged upgrade.

But if your motherboard does not support 4th generation processor, then it would be better to go buy the i7 6700k with a compatible motherboard and RAM.
