I bought a laptop a while ago and I just want to make sure that this laptop is using gtx960m, then I run directx diagnostic tools, there are two tabs: first one was display, its said using intel HD Graphics 530 and the other one was render, its said using gtx960m..

I was searching for answer but i don't know the keywords to do so. So what does it mean by display and render?

Ps: sorry for bad english

Thats normal, the HD 530 is built into the CPU, this is what it uses most of the time in windows. The 960m is for when you run games or other demanding 3d apps.

If you go into the Nvidia control panel, you can tell it what gpu you wish to use for each application, otherwise it will pick automatically.

Thanks for the answer! I ask around and nobody could provide such answer, even IT technician, guess I live in wrong place haha.. Anyway basically it made to balancing both battery life in fair usage and performance in heavy usage right?

Yes exactly right. In normal windows desktop work, the 530 will use a lot less power, but the 960m will be a LOT better in games due to being more powerful and having dedicated GDDR5 vram, where as the 530 uses the much slower system ram.
