I intend to get a gaming rig in order to run the HTC Vive. I have 2 options.

The first, priced at £899.99 is:

- Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Skylake CPU
- 16GB DDR4 2133MHz Kingston HyperX Fury RAM
- 1TB SATA HDD
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB

The second, priced at £1149.99 is:

- Intel Core i7-6700 (6th Generation)
- 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM HyperX Fury
- 2TB SATA HDD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, 8GB

Is the second option worth the extra £250 or will the first option run VR well?

Solution

I believe The first one will run VR as will the second although obviously somewhat better.
If you want the best possible performance & Graphic settings in games get option 2.
In contrast to this i would personally reccommend building your own.
