Hey everyone, in some real need of technical expertise.
So I moved into a new house about a month ago, 2 weeks in my computer died, at the exact same time I was downstairs setting my housemate's computer up. Once it was powered up I went back up to my room and my computer was dead. It had power, to the mb but when trying to power would spin fans for a millisecond then turn off.
My mb, cpu & cooler and the ram are all under warranty so I sent them back to scan. They found the mb was fried and the cpu was damaged, replacements return, I put them on and I get the q code 61 every time. Figure the psu must also be damaged.
Today I decided to try some other computer parts and a brand new surge protector, firstly the psu from my old rig, won't even power the mb. Then I try my friends psu (with his permission) and it fails to start, then I find when I put his comp back together it fails to power. Go downstairs with his PC instead, same problem I had initially with the board being powered but not starting.
That's 3 computers down, all with the exact same issues. The weird thing is all 3 worked fine, and my pc was working right up to two weeks after moving in. I also tried turning everything in the house off except the PC.
Is it the house? My flatmates PC worked fine till I took it upstairs, I had them grounded, used anti static precautions and carefully removed the cables, checked everything was plugged in properly. General due diligence.
Any help would be welcome and much appreciated, thanks in advance.
