Hi guys,

I wanted to finally enjoy some 1440p eye candy, so I purchased a monitor 2 days ago. My cpu is 6.5 yrs old, do you think it's time to upgrade the cpu/mb/ram to fully enjoy 1440p @ 60hz? Or, perhaps I might just be ok for a while yet?

i7-860 oc'd to 3.8 ghz
GTX 970
8 Gb ddr3
1440p / 60hz monitor: Dell U2515h (just bought 2 days ago...in the mail)

I will be playing Battlefield 1 and was wondering how you think my old system might fair?
I used to play Battlefield 4 with this system, without any complaints, although that was with 1080p monitor.

I suppose I'll find out in a few days when the monitor arrives and I test out Witcher 3, Fallout 4, BF4 etc.

I'll let you know how it goes and report back next week.
This 1440p resolution might just push my i7-860 too far....we'll see.
Thus far, 6.5 years on one cpu isn't too bad :) Fingers crossed.

Well that would certainly be a money/time saver vs. new cpu/mb/ram/win.10 license.
If that would work I could sell the 970 to recoup some cost.
