Several PC Issues

Hello,

So first of all I'll post the parts I have at my disposal, and the year in which I got it. (A full config + another GPU)
CPU : I5 2500K 3.3 GHZ (Feb. 2012)
8G Ram (Feb. 2012)
MB : MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) (Feb. 2012)
GPU : Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X OC (Jul. 2014) (And the other one is a : EVGA Nvidia GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0 It's a friend's, he got it 2 weeks ago)
PSU : Cooler Master GX Power Bronze - 650W (Feb. 2012)
OS : Win 7 Pro 64 bits

Now, the (not so) fun part.

First issue I got was when I tried to play H1Z1.
I just played WoW for maybe 2 hours, then while trying to load the game menu of H1Z1 the screen turned in a full screen of a greeny-yellow colour, and I could hear the PC crash.
I tried to restart it, I could boot, got to see the Windows logo, then nothing. The CPU light was indicating it's working, but all I had was a black screen.
When I saw the Mother Board screen, and the Windows logo, there were stripes (mostly green, purple and pink) over the colors and some parts of the screen.

Tried to reboot once again, wouldn't work. Decided I'd wait 20min then try again, it worked, got to my desktop, but the stripes were still there. They only show up on colors, and shades of grey. Thought I had an issue with the GPU, so I asked a friend if I could borrow a GPU to test it.

His GPU doesn't fit the original port (PCI-E 2) because of the SATA ports on the MB, so I plugged it in the other one (PCI-E 5). Took off the R9 270X, and tried to boot. PC wouldn't boot, just a black screen with a "B2" on the bottom right of the screen. Then I'd get a black screen with a white stripe in the top left corner, which is blipping, as if it couldn't boot from anything. But, I didn't touch the HDD.
- I tried flashing the BIOS, nothing.
- I tried to insert a Windows 7 disk to boot from it, nothing.
- I tried to burn the computed and throw it out... Not yet, but I'm getting there.

So yeah, to sum it up :
PC crashed with a greeny-yellow colour screen (no BSOD at all during the whole process) -> Couldn't boot windows for a few minutes and stripes appeared -> Then it worked but I still had the stripes -> So I tried another GPU, but then the PC wouldn't even boot, even with a BIOS reset, or a Windows 7 Installation disk.

The only thing I didn't try is to start a game, but I'm assuming it will crash. IF I can boot windows normally, which doesn't seem to be an option anymore.

So, is it the MB, the PSU, the GPU, or maybe something else ?
I'm kinda short on ideas and I can't seem to be able to fix this mess.
If a kind soul could help me fix the issue(s), that'd be very nice. Pretty please.

Solution
it could well be a good idea to update the bios but in all fairness I am not sure you need nvidia drivers for the GTX 960 and AMD drivers for the R9 270 your machine can only use one set of display drivers. if thats not the problem I really dought that the PSU is not enough because AMD GPU use's more power than NVIDIA

Yeah, in my mind, I was pretty sure I had installed the R9 over an Nvidia, but I forgot I did a clean install of windows before that.
Thank you, I'll try that and get back to you ASAP.

I cleaned the drivers, turned off the computer, plugged the other GPU in, and it still doesn't boot.
Black screen + B2 in the bottom right corner. Then after I hear 3 spaced (30 sec) bips, it shows the black screen with the white stripe blipping in the top left corner.

On a good note, now I can boot normally with the R9 on both ports, but I still have the columns of stripes.

Could it be the MB that doesn't support the GTX, which would require an update of the BIOS ?

Yeah, I thought the fact that it's old might be the issue, but I clean it pretty often. And, I was thinking of taking the same card as he did, or a 1060, because of the uprgrade in performance, but also because NVIDIA GPUs use less power.
The only issues I've had have been GPUs dying after ~2years.

I deleted every AMD drivers, since they were the ones installed. Tried to boot, nothing. So I guess I can update the BIOS and see where it goes.

Well, everything seems to be working fine right now. I mean, it booted, I still have to install the drivers, and actually use the card, but I know where the black screen came from, and the other GPU was indeed close to death.

Thank you very much for the help !
