Dear Sir/Madam,

I want to build a computer for virtualisation (hacking labs for penetration testing) and for playing a game every now and then. I have 5000 dollars to spend on this rig but less is preferred of course, but note that I do not want to give up any power.

Currently I have this setup which is relatively cost effective:

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB
Intel Core i7-6700K / 4 GHz
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid Gaming
Corsair Air Series SP120
Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
2 x Samsung 950 Pro
Corsair AX1500i
ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10
Cooler Master MasterCase Maker 5

I have never build a computer before so I would greatly appreciate it if you could advise me, perhaps on a rig with wholly different specs.

You're greatly appreciated,
Tom Trumpeteer

now to the cooling:
This one for the CPU https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xlc-predator-360-incl-qdc
And this one to the GPU https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-ftw-acetal-nickel - make sure to select pre-fill and QDC to connect it to the above
that will be another 400$

Have you used the website " PCPartPicker " enter that without the quotation marks into your search engine. Once on the site enter all of your parts into the appropriate boxes, this will tell you if all your parts are compatible, what to change if they're not, and give you current prices from several websites so you don't needlessly spend your money. This is about the quickest way to verify all your parts and not have to wait for an answer.
