Motherboard and ram compatibility

Hey guys,

If I put ddr4 2666mhz ram on a motherboard that only offers support to 2133mhz, after I set manually and everything on bios, will I have any problems with compatibility later?

By default the DRAM will go to 2133, from there you might want/need to set the DRAM manually for optimal performance at 2133. The mobos often set the timings loose
