So, I built my custom cpu rig last June, and it has performed flawlessly for 5 months.
Recently though, I reseated my ram in an attempt to add 4 more compatible gigs and the memory led came on. This terrified me as this is my first build, and I immediately reverted back to the original setup. After a cpu led scare I let the pc test for a day or two and then it worked fine and I used it for another week.
Today, my pc gives me the read LED light again and I decide to continue my previous troubleshooting. No pins bent at all in the cpu, thermal paste applied, and the pc boots without the red light on the cpu led when I accidentally leave the 8 pin connector unhooked to my gpu.
After reconnecting, my cpu led comes back on, and this is with nothing but the monitor attatched.
As seems usual to list my specs are:
AMD 4300_fx processor
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB DDR3-1600 Memory
EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card
EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and until a suggestion I will be letting my pc rest although at the time of writing this I have not used it in about a week
