Can I exhaust out the front of a NZXT H440?

Good evening guys. I have 2 Fury Xs and an H100i. If I have the H100i exhausting out of the top of my H440, can I install the (2) 120mm rads from the Fury Xs in the front of my case as exhausts, and use only 1, 140mm intake fan in the back?

Solution

OK. I won't try to convince you otherwise on air flow direction. Try out the...

I appreciate the response gentlemen. The only reason i would consider doing that config is because with two Fury Xs and a H100i, I'm simply out of room in my H440. I guess I was trying to still utilize the case I have versus upgrading to a full tower, but perhaps that's the only logical route to go. Believe it or not, neither Fury X is installed yet. Im still using my R9 295. The Furys are still in the box.

Is that the way AMD recommends the fans to work... as exhaust? Usually the radiators work best with fresh air forced thru them from outside rather than warmer case air forced thru them.
The front of that case has room for a 3rd 120mm fan if it still fits with 2 x rads there. You could still have fresh air brought into the case that way and the rear fan exhausting.
Which way are the top fans/rad blowing?

Yeah, they recommended using them as an exhaust config. Currently, I have my H100i (w/ a 240mm rad) exhausting out the top of my case, and I haven't had any issues yet. Because of the lip on rads, only the two will fit in front, and nothing else. I guess my primary worry, aside from having to find some kind of dust filter to fit the 140mm fan bay in the rear of my case, is the notion I keep hearing about, which is needing to have almost an equal amount of intake and exhaust fans. The config that we are talking about would mean I'd only have One intake on the back of the H440, and then 4 exhaust fans between the CPU cooler, and the 2 Fury Xs.

I think we'd need a detailed pic of what you are proposing here.
Because that sounds all sorts of backwards.

I have in my mind what I think you are proposing, but I'd like to see it from your brain and fingers...

OK. I won't try to convince you otherwise on air flow direction. Try out the pattern discussed and see how temps work out. Nothing is irreversible. As for filter media, I usually stop at an Ace Hdwr and pick up some window A/C filter media. It is just a matter of choosing the thickness you want.
A 140mm fan intaking fresh air should be good enough. And that part about intake/exhaust being equal is not important. Cases have so many cracks, crevices, holes that air escapes, you can't really make them 100% positive pressure or even equal pressure. Mainly you want there to be good airflow to transfer heat.

I agree, it is backwards. I think im either going to have to go with a larger case, or sell my Fury Xs, and go with 2 cards that are air cooled, whether it be Nvidia or AMD...
