I'm not sure why this is happening. I used my old motherboard for a short time while my CPU was coming in, then switched back and only used one ram stick so I could be sure it's working. It did work, but it's not showing the other RAM stick as usable at all (I have 7.73 usable with either 1 or 2 sticks) The first stick is in the blue slot nearest the CPU, the second is in the other blue slot. Nothing is in either black slot. I've already checked and made sure it was inserted firmly with the computer off and then turned it back on. I believe this is the correct configuration but I forgot if that's how I had it before. The other stick was working before.

Edit: Nevermind, one should be a blue slot and one should be a black slot.

Not all motherboards are made equally and with the wide range of boards as well as platforms(Intel and AMD) there are too many to keep track of and to that effect make complete sense of what you mean by slot colors.

Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS? You should make sure your BIOS is up to date prior to dropping any new ram on any board. Lastly if you're talking about using an installation of an OS on a SSD while you swapped out your motherboard without reinstalling your OS will result in instability. It's always advised to reinstall your OS if you swap out your board/CPU.

In this case the problem was very simple. The slots are blue/black/blue/black. Putting RAM in both blue slots results in it not regarding the second blue slot as usable. Putting RAM in both left slots (so blue/black) results in it working normally. I just put it back in the wrong place and already corrected it.
