Hello! I've recently moved the guts from my Alienware x51 into a Dell atx style case, and everything is working good! Except one thing.
When the system used to post before the swap, the CPU fan would speed up and slow back down. Now with the new Fan it doesn't do that. As well as, i was able to control the fan before the swap, and now the fan sits at idle.
AFAIK, the motherboard has only 1 fan control chip, Which should branch out to the other fan headers. The other PWM fan header is controllable, leading me to believe it SHOULDN'T Be an issue with the controller itself.
So, I'm asking you, is this a Windows driver issue? (I won't be testing until i get a SSD and reinstall windows) or is the pwm pin fried on the header? (I've tried the header with 3 PWM fans i have and they all aren't controllable)
