I have set up the modem router set to bridge, my router ip is 192.168.2.1 and when i try to port forward it says that the ip needs to be within range. so I tried using 192.168.1.1 and it worked but that is not my router so it wont work...

The chain is:
Internet - modem router - router - pc

it doesn't allow me to use the correct ipv4 of my router..

Solution
What make and model is the modem-router?

What make and model is the router?

Can you run and post the results of "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the command prompt on your pc?

You can change the default IP of a router but you must also then make sure that all of the connecting network devices are configured to seek a DHCP IP address via that router's assigned IP address accordingly.

Double check your subnet masks as well. Can be easy to miss a typo therein.
