Currently have a gtx 670 with 2 6pin ports through 4 molex(2 molex per 6pin) port. Got a 1070 a few days ago and realized I didnt have an 8 pin. So I went ahead to a pc shop to get a molex 8pin and they said that would be a bad idea as my psu was too trash and I should be using a gold grade to power the 1070. So they recommended me to buy one of their gold grade psu's.What do you guy's think? should I upgrade my cooler master 600W silent pro modular 80+ bronze?

The color rating on PSU's denotes their efficiency and really isn't a reflection of their quality. If your PSU doesn't have the correct PCIe connectors, that's generally an indication you shouldn't use it, adapters aren't a good idea. I would pick up a Seasonic S12II 520 as cheap insurance for my new card. It's budget friendly and has a 6+2 PCIe connector, plenty of watts to run the 1070.

Its this one https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Silent-Pro-RS600-AMBAD3-US/dp/B001NJ0CYG?th=1. I just lost my cables through moving houses I think. So should I upgrade? or should I just try and get me a pcie to 6+2pin cooler master cable?

I have owned a few of these and they have been virtually silent.

Well, I am considering getting a 6pin to 8pin adapter. What happens if there is not enough power? will it damage the card? or will it just black screen when at load?
