Does PCI-e Express x16 support RX 480?

Solution
Pcie x16 is the size of the long slot on your mobo. So yes, as long as you have a modern style motherboard, and not an old pci or AGP, it'll fit. AMD cards are only backwards compatible to pcie 2.1. Nvidia cards are backwards compatible to pcie 1.1. Pcie 1.0 is standalone for both brands.

Yes it does work
because there all backwards compatible so for example if you have a modern PCIe x16 3.0 graphics card it'll work with a PCIe x16 2.0 slot and a PCIe x16 1.0 slot which I'm guessing it's the current slot you have.
