Building a New PC on Budget

Hello,

Before i start i have one issue , i can't throw away my old Hard-Disks (Three of them).

With that said i am thinking of building a new PC (Primarily for Gaming). My Budget is somewhere b/w 800-950 dollars (Excluding HD and Monitor). If possible a system that can run games in 4K.

I have an old Cooler Master 850 watt PSU (should i get another one? ). How much power do these new GPU need ?

I wouldn't use an old PSU in a new system, that's just asking for trouble. A bare minimum build for 4k is going to be just out of your budget range (using a GTX 1080 and Ultra settings), but you could substitute the GTX 1070 and run lower settings or 1440p.

And Here is what i have in mind . If this is bad Combination please let me know. Also i have a few questions

Motherboard : GIGABYTE GA-B150M-D3H DDR4

Processor : One of you has mentioned 6600 and the other 6600K. Is there a really substantial difference b/w the two ? Or is it minimal ?

RAM : Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000 BUS DDR 4 (8GB x 2)

PSU : Thermaltake SMART DPS 750W GOLD Semi-Modular (PS-SPG-0750DPCGEU-G)

Chasis : Don't need one unless .... the one i have will have issues (Cooler Master CM 690)

GPU: Nvidia 1070 or 1080. This i really don't know. If Nvidia is clearly ahead of Radeon at the moment then i'll buy an Nvidia card. (But i always thought Radeon had better budget cards).

The i5 6500 is a locked processor while the 6600K runs slightly faster and can be overclocked. At stock speeds, there is minimal difference. Either one will run the GTX 1070 or 1080, but you will get better frame rates with an overclocked processor. Frame rates will be good enough with either card that overclocking isn't necessary and really adds to the cost of the build. I would use either one of the builds we suggested, but not mix and match. The i5 6600K cant be overclocked on that B150 motherboard. The PSU you show is more expensive and larger than you need, not really worth it considering it's nothing special as PSU's go.

Hello,

Yes, I know, I sure took a lot of time. Anyways I bought a few pieces of equipment and wanted to know whether you would recommend something different now

CPU: Intel i5 (7600K)
PSU: Corsair RM750X
Case: Cooler Master Scout 2

I am wondering whether I should spend over a 100$ on the motherboard or not.. and is GTX1080 still as good as it used to be (price point).
