I am building my first gaming PC and confused whether to choose Intel or AMD

Specs for the intel build:
Pentium G4400
Sapphire Nitro RX 460 2GB
8GB DDR4 RAM
MSI H110M PRO-VD MOBO

Specs for the AMD build:
AMD FX 6300
GTX 750Ti
8GB DDR3 RAM
ASUS M5A78L-M LX3 MOBO

Solution
$390 gets you an Intel system with 4 RAM slots, and a GTX 1060 which is around twice as fast as the RX460:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($56.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($63.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($41.98 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB SC GAMING Video Card ($203.00 @ B&H)
Power Supply: EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $390.94

There might be a better option than either of these, but I'd take the Pentium if choosing between the two. The RX460 is a much faster video card, and the G4400 has nearly twice the single-threaded performance of the FX. There are a handful of games that simply don't run well on dual cores and the FX system would likely perform better in these, but the opposite is also true. The Pentium offers a far superior upgrade path and has other advantages related to the platform/socket it uses.
