My PC has been acting weird lately. Randomly when I start it up sometimes I will get the BSOD with a different error each time, one being MEMORY MANAGEMENT, another being SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION, and the other one I got was FAULTY HARDWARE CORRUPTED PAGE. I think I may have gotten some other ones but didn't get the chance to write them down. Each time I get the BSOD it will say collecting data, then we will restart your PC. After it restarts my PC is back to normal and I can use it just fine most of the time. Today I started it up and my task manager would not open and some of my games wouldn't open. Weird stuff like this has been happening lately and it's really bothering me.
I have cleared my hard drive and reinstalled windows twice since it started, but it still happens. My initial thought of what might be causing the problem is this new RAM I installed. I had originally had two single sticks of G.Skill RAM (F3-17000CL11S) and I wanted more so I bought a pack of two 4GB sticks (F3-17000CL11D) to upgrade. The sticks are basically identical, other than the fact that the two new sticks I bought are dual rank and the older ones are single. The other difference is the color of the chip or whatever on the actual stick (I'm not sure if that makes a difference, one is black one is green, you can see it in the picture below). Other than that the specs are exactly the same.
I thought the RAM might be the problem so I used Windows Memory Diagnostic to see if there were any problems with the RAM. The first time I used it I had all four sticks in my PC. I then used the Diagnostic for each individual stick. Every time I did I got the same message saying "Hardware problems were detected. To identify and repair these problems, you will need to contact the computer manufacturer." I would also like to point out that every time I tried to do the test it would never make it past 6%. Sometimes it would stop on 2% or 3%, and the most it stopped at was 6%, when it stopped it would just freeze.
This made me think that the problem may be something other than the RAM. I believe this because all the RAM sticks are basically identical like I said before. I also don't see these two new sticks of RAM being broken along with my two old ones. I'm not sure what else it could be, I thought maybe my motherboard or something, but I'm not sure.
