What is the best for me? Z170 or x99?

Okay, so now that I know all the parts that I want. I bumped into some threads talking about rather they should get Z170 or X99. So I read them and got me hooked but I didn't understand the people giving him feedback [I am honestly a noob]

The processor I am getting is the i7-5820K [2011-v3]

The highest price I would like to pay for a motherboard is $300 or less. I am trying to keep a red scheme for the build. [Some Built In LEDs would be great >:)]

The main thing I will be doing is just pure gaming. Literally. Probably some editing for making videos and such. But like 99% gaming. So I don't know which chipset I should get. I heard Z170 is better for gaming but I am not sure. All feedback would be great. Try to keep it noob friendly a little bit please :) But if you can't go for it.

If you are wondering, this is my current build I am planning. The motherboard I have there seems to have bad reviews saying it has an outdated BIOS. Idk

***EDIT***
Searching on amazon and it looks like most Z170 motherboards are for LGA 1151 :p So confused...

Solution
pure gaming, save your cash, get an i5 6xxxk or an i7 6xxxk (i5 is enough) and a z170 and OC it to 4.5 The 2011 cpu's are more extreme than just gaming needs.

so will a 6700k outperform the 5820k?

I just read a thread here and it said the 5820k was for extreme performance. And the 6700k was "High-End"

edit--
oh i see so if I am just going to be gaming. I wont be getting the full "benefits" of the 5820k? or am I wrong?

correct, at least not yet, and no-one really knows when >4 cores will become truly useful. What resolution are you running at? If you were going for 4k, or 3x4k and sli 1080's then an extreme processor will help in keeping them busy, but not for anything below 4k.

im planning to run games at ultra high settings at 1080p maybe 1440p but I am not planning for 2k or 4k anytime soon

* well I'll take that back. I might try to run some games with triple monitors or a ultrawide monitor. So I am not sure. {depending on what I get}
