Hi forum!

I need to research how much a highly portable mini desktop with a gtx 1070 for VR would be? I need this because I work as an installation artist and I have a museum show next year. In that show I need to acquire small desktops that I can hookup Oculus Rift to, and then let people explore my work on-location.

The computer does not really need to be able to do anything but that.

Any idea of how to go about this?

It will need 2x Usb 3, anohter usb 2 or 3, some 16 gb ram, a gtx 1070 and some cooling.

hmm. Any tips? I got so much great feedback here when i build my workstation (i5820, gtx 1070 and a bunch of juicy stuff) and it has helped my professional work TREMENDEOUSLY!

Any feedback is welcome:)

For this kind of purpose, for VR you will definitely want a 6700K because VR will definitely take advantage of the extra threads. I would recommend a build based around the Fractal Design Node 202:
