how much storage is a good amount for games and movies

i'm currently deciding about what type of ssd and hdds to get.

I don't need ssd as my main storage but i'd like an ssd for my operating system, and operating system only.

With SSDs out the way i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how much storage is a good going by price for storage capacity i was kind of thinking about 6tb for £139 but that is out of my price range unless i wait a month or 2

All I can say is when I put my pc together I put in a 240GB SSD and a 1TB HDD thinking that would be enough for a while. They are both full now. I put all my games and media on the 1TB and main programs and windows on the SSD. Id go for at least a 500GB SSD for the boot drive and as big of a HDD as you can afford.

What do you want to do? If you're gaming, the newer games can require 15GB to 40GB of disk space per game. Pictures and note or word files don't use much space for the most part. You'll be good with a 1 TB HDD for now which can be had in the $45 to $60 range.

If you do decide you’ll want an SSD, purchasing a larger capacity drive provides more value for money. For example, the Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB is $73 ($0.61 per GB). For an extra $33, you could more than double the storage capacity to 250 GB ($0.42 per GB). The $178 500 GB SSD offers the best value at $0.36 per GB. So by buying the 500 GB SSD, you’re only paying almost half the price per gigabyte!
