Hi everyone
i have tried and looked at everything and i am stumped.

Seagate ext HDD SN: NA7N3FK2 1TB hdd with about 600gb used

I am trying t load onto a windows 10 PC, that it use to always be connected to, unlugged it for some unknown reason a while ago. Have gone to plug ti back in and nothing

Light goes on, noise to windows PC, but doesnt show in PC.
I then plug into a laptop i have and it works beautifully!, try and play files in VLC and works fine.
I plug into my Xbox one and works fine, including files

Go back to the PC
its shows in:
Deve Manager - Disk Drives as Seagate BUP Slime.
I then go to Disk Management, it shows up as unletterd and blank name, all options greyed out and the partions not as they should be., it kind of looks like its mixing with the c:/, and this will explain when i mention something below.

I have gone to the seagate website and installed the following:
Disk wizard, dashboard and drive settings.
Drive settings; doesnt show u at all
dashboard, its shows up, but as soon as i click on to take me to the files, it takes me to the c:/ instead
and disk wizard doesnt do anything.

also a side note which may or may not seem aligned, when i go to the devices, it shows, when i go to properties it has two items; seagate BUP slim and USB attached SCSI mass storage, though when i do the exact same on the laptop, i missed the USB attached and shows samsung MBG4GC.

ANy help i can get would be appreciated. THe hdd has all my tv shows, so worst case i have to buy a new HDD or messaroudn when saving files and playign files, but id rather just fix outright withough deleting or hours of transferring

any further questions you have for me, but i think iv covered it all

Hi there kaleta,

Well, this is a strange issue you've got over there. :)

I want to start with that it may be a good idea to edit the thread and remove the SN of the drive. :)

Have you tried the ports located on the back of the computer case? It will not hurt to try that.
Have you tried using another HDD on your computer?

I believe you can test the drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
If there's something wrong with it, just back up the data.

Apart from that, you can go to your MOBO's website and update all the drivers. See if there are some USB 3.0 ones.
Another thing you can do is to go to Device Manager -> find the drive -> Uninstall -> plug it out -> restart -> plug the drive back...

Another thing you can do is to go to Device Manager -> find the drive -> Uninstall -> plug it out -> restart -> plug the drive back in and wait for it to automatically load drivers.

It would be nice to provide a screenshot of Disk Management. Just upload the screenshot to an image hosting website and post the link.

Let me know how this goes,
