I formatted my SSD and done a clean install of Windows 7 home premium. Everything was absolutely fine. Restarting my PC it booted up as quick as it should each time. Then, I restarted it and noticed it was booting quite slow. I checked the boot sequence in the BIOS and it was set to boot from windows boot manager (P0 Samsung EVO 250GB SSD). I changed it back to boot from P0 Samsung EVO 250GB SSD, but it wouldn't boot. Said something like select a bootable drive and restart. So I had to change it back to windows boot manager so I could boot it. I installed Windows again and everything was fine. After restarting it for like the 10th time after install, it happened again! Someone please help.

Solution
Download the latest BIOS from motherboard manufacturer´s website, extract it, copy it to an USB flash drive and flash inside BIOS itself.

The motherboard´s manual should describe how to do it.

Hey there, @No_Scoped_Jesus!

I'd recommend checking your BIOS settings and make sure you have set the SATA mode for the SSD to AHCI. If that doesn't work either, I'd suggest you try resetting BIOS. This will get all the settings back to factory defaults, so you will need to re-configure the SATA mode and boot order again afterwards.
You might also want to run StartUp repair options from the Windows Installation media. Hopefully, this will fix the booting issue with the SSD.
If none of these work, maybe you should consider doing a new fresh install onto the SSD. In case it comes to that, make sure you unplug all secondary SATA devices from the motherboard. This would avoid any OS confusion.

Keep me posted & best of luck!

Hey Supersoph_WD
Thanks for your reply. It is already set to AHCI. I haven't yet reset my BIOS. I tried to run the startup from the windows DVD but it said there was nothing to repair. And this is the 3rd time doing a clean install of windows. This never happened until I done that; and had to do it a couple more times after hoping it would sort it. Straight after the install, everything is fine. And eventually it changes to windows boot manager.

Thanks!

Thanks for your response helpstar. I can only select UEFI when the Windows DVD is in. Other than that it's: Windows boot manager (P1 - SSD). P1 - SSD. or P0 - HDD. How do I update it, from my motherboard manufacturer website?
