Hello,

I have 3 HDs and two of them are really old. (More than a decade). I don't want to throw away those Hard Drives nor Format them.

I am looking for something like a Rack. You place those Hard Drives in that Rack and when you want to access them you connect the rack with your PC through USB.

Is there anything like that ?

I just wanted to revisit this thread and this question in order to be real clear about what I mean. Since you indicated that these hard drives are more than a decade old I would not hesitate one second on migrating the data to new drives.

All drives fail, it is just a mater of when.

Hard drives are cheap, personal data is often times priceless.

After you copy that data off of the old drives you really need to throw those old drives away, but you have to do it safely. There are two ways to do this.

If any of those drives is a single source for some of your files, this is a bad thing.
Drives die. New ones, old ones, whatever.

Anything you really want to keep should exist on at least two physical drives.

I throw mine in the trash after about 5 or 6 years, Make sure that your information resides on more than one physical drive, I keep my data mirrored on 5 separate drives stored in various physical locations around the state that I live in. After you start migrating your data you can then start throwing away your oldest drives.

Fill those old drives with zeros or ones by using a third party software such as MiniTool Partition Wizard. Or physically destroy the drives with a hammer and screwdriver. Either way you want to render these old drives useless before you throw them away.

Remember, it is past time to be proactive with your data. Copy it now before it is too late.
