So my previous graphics card, the GTX 780 is getting quite old, and on top of that it's starting to malfunction. I am considering few different choices, though I'm not an expert so I would appreciate some help.

I'm planning to play the new games that are about to be released. Dishonored 2, Watchdogs 2, Civ 6, on top of some older games. I don't expect playing on ultra, but I definitely want something like 1080p on medium at 60fps. I also have a Core i7 4770 and 8GB of ram, no bottlenecks there.

1. GTX 970. Those go for around €270-€300. Not sure how much of an upgrade it would be, but they are definitely on the cheaper side. They are in the price range I'd prefer, but I'm not too sure about performance.

2. GTX 980. Around €350 is the starting point, and I can't go much higher than that. I would feel much more comfortable with this one, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price increase.

3. GTX 10xx. Not sure what the lower end of this series looks like, so I'd like to know if there are any graphics cards here that are comparable to the 970 and 980 both price and performance wise.

Solution
the 1060 pulls about 100w less mate - thats the main proviso.
The 980 is most definitely 10-15% stronger though - no doubt about it.
at 1080p either card will very close to max games at 60fps fairly easily.

Ah, that list is just what I needed. So seeing as the 1070 and 980ti are both a little too expensive for me, I'll probably have to go for either the 1060 or the 980.
Are there any strong reasons to pick one over the other? In the comparisons that I found, the 980 seems to pull slightly ahead of the 1060. It's also slightly more expensive.
