graphics card power cord

I have a new graphics card and when it came to installing it there was no power cable I was wondering if I could just by an adaptor or if I would have to by a new power supply

You could try using an adapter but I'd strongly advise against it. Get a Corsair CX 450M (the gray ones not the green ones) and save yourself a lot of headache.

what graphics card? what about the rest of the system? this will determine how big a psu you need.

an adapter is not recommended in any case as they only mask the poor psu you have. it probably won't give the power needed to the card even if you manage to get the right connection created with an adapter. the psu still will not produce the power the connection is trying to use.

post the pc specs and gpu you bought and we can offer some psu suggestions for you. a budget for the psu would also be useful since they can vary qildly depending on quality and features

It's very simple if your power supply don't have the proper connectors then replace it. They limit the connectors on a power supply for a reason to keep you from frying parts.

Im looking for somthing that has shipping to the uk so I can not use newegg and I can only get the Corsair CX 450M for 70$ is there anything else I cold get or would I have to pay alot
