Basic computer for audio + external video recording, & transferring data via ethernet?

My attic is probably going to be renovated soon and I'm thinking of turning it into a space where I can record gaming commentary. Because it'll probably need to be quiet, and because I can't move my current PC up there for several reasons, I'm thinking of building a simple one for recording audio with audacity and capturing video through an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro.
The current build I have in mind is here. I may have chosen a few parts for vanity's sake. The only difference is that I'm going with an AvP Hyperion mATX case rather than the one in the list, mainly because it's cheap.
The biggest problem I have with this build is that I don't know if it's going to be quiet enough or not, or if some of the parts will even fit, like the CPU cooler and PSU.
Also I'd like to know if it would be possible to transfer files from one computer to another via ethernet while they are connected to the modem? I'd also be using an ethernet splitter to allow wired connections to my consoles. If I could transfer data just via ethernet then I wouldn't need to painstakingly travel up and downstairs with an external hard drive. I might not need one at all, I could just slap it all my data onto an internal hdd and transfer it via ethernet.
Thanks.

I won't be using this computer for editing, which is why I asked if I could transfer data via ethernet. I'd be transferring it from this computer to my main computer.

This is pretty much what my network connection would be like, not counting wireless connections such as phones.
